Ina Huppertz presents to a packed pub in Heidelberg.

Moving south to Heidelberg, where the audience braved thunder and lightning to attend Heidelberg’s first Pint of Science event. Opening the evening, inside the cosy refuge was Ina Huppertz, a postdoctoral fellow in the Hentze group. Huppertz used gummi bears to describe how cell metabolism and gene regulation are directly linked, inspiring interested questions from the audience. “It’s great to have such a chilled atmosphere where people can learn about and question science,” comments one audience member. Huppertz agrees, “I really enjoy speaking about science with those who don’t always get a chance to interact with it.”
